PEP Adds New Associate Creative Director

Kim Shafer has joined the Patient Experience Project (PEP) as an associate creative director and will be based in Chicago. She is an award-winning graphic designer with more than 20 years of experience in the advertising industry.

Shafer has designed creative solutions—for print, outdoor, television, and digital mediums—for a wide spectrum of global and national clients, including Ford, Caterpillar, Ann Tayler, T-Mobile, Heineken, UBS, Procter and Gamble, SC Johnson, and Abbott. She specializes in design that utilizes digital and Web technologies and her creative work emphasizes a human-centered approach that ensures the humanity of a project is always in the forefront.

“Kim brings with her an impressive breadth and depth of creative abilities, including some formidable digital design skills,” explains Julie Anne Lewis, PEP’s director of content and creative. “Plus, true to the spirit of our team, she is civic-minded with a genuine desire to help others and do work that matters.”

Shafer graduated from the design program at the Portfolio Center, Atlanta, Georgia after receiving her bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a concentration in advertising and public relations from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She has volunteered her time to support such worthy organizations as Habitat for Humanity, Net Impact, and Engineers Without Borders.
