The Patient Experience Project (PEP), a full-service, patient-centric communications agency based in Saratoga Springs, NY, has announced the addition of Shay Ashline, PhD to its content team.
Dr. Ashline has joined the PEP as a clinical content specialist. In addition to her medical writing responsibilities, she provides valuable insight into various medical and scientific aspects of the PEP’s work with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and healthcare clients.
Dr. Ashline earned her PhD in chemistry from Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, with honors, from Elmira College, Elmira, New York. She is currently pursuing an MBA from Union Graduate College, Schenectady, New York.
Dr. Ashline has conducted in-depth research on sense and treat systems focused on biomarker detection within the body and corresponding responsive drug release. Her work has been published in numerous scientific journals such as the Angewandte Chemie, Journal of Physical Chemistry, Electroanalysis, Chemical Communications, and Journal of Materials Chemistry, among others. She has also made presentations and had her research featured at academic and professional chemistry and biology symposiums, regionally and nationally. The National Science Foundation awarded Dr. Ashline a grant to study biosensors and biointerfaces at the University of New South Wales, Australia in 2012.
“Dr. Ashline is a tremendous asset given her extensive science and research background,” said Dan Bobear, president and founder of the Patient Experience Project. “We are fortunate that she has chosen to apply her expertise to our communications work. She has an incredible ability to break down complex concepts and medical data and translate the information in a way that patients and their families can easily understand.”
